She was so very helpful throughout my pregnancy and into labor. When I was birthing my little man the only people I could hear were her and my husband. Everyone else just faded away. Her experience and confidence in a woman’s ability to birth naturally were absolutely amazing! I cannot express how wonderful it was to have her by my side.
If you are even considering a doula, meet with Korina! She brings a level of peace and comfort to birth that cannot be taken for granted! I had the most amazing, crazy, scary birth experience possible! Hospital transfer, placental abruption and about 15 people watching in the hospital room. Korina kept me grounded and focused and help me achieve my desired end result: A natural, medication and intervention free vaginal delivery! I am certain I would not have been able to do that without her by my side.
Our Birth Story
I’ve known Korina for most of my life. When she entered my birth story, I was 28 weeks along and had been sentenced to a hospital birth. After a c-section and forcep delivery VBAC with babies 1 and 2, I had made the decision to repeat c-section this time. I felt if I couldn’t deliver at a birth center it probably wasn’t safe to attempt anything in the hospital. Enter Korina.
Korina met with me and asked me what kind of birth I really wanted. She assured me that if I truly wanted a c-section she would stand by me and we would rock that c-section! This led to about two weeks of pondering, praying about and searching for the birth I wanted. When I met with Korina two weeks later I told her I wanted a natural birth and I was ready and willing to do whatever it took to get it! Korina supported, encouraged and at times carried me to my end goal.
